About this tool

Every IPv4 and IPv6 block on the public internet is assigned a country code by its Regional Internet Registry. This tool lists every CIDR block currently assigned to a given country — search by ISO 3166-1 code (US, DE, UA) or by country name. The result is the complete allocation list with prefix, address count, and the responsible RIR.

Data comes from the RIR delegated-stats files (ARIN, RIPE, APNIC, LACNIC, AFRINIC) published nightly. Each entry shows registry, allocation date, and prefix length. Results are sorted by size by default so you can spot the biggest blocks first; sort by date to see the country's newest allocations.

When to use this tool

  • Geo-blocking and geo-routing. Build firewall or CDN rules that allow or deny traffic from specific countries with a complete, authoritative list.
  • Compliance and sanctions screening. Quickly produce the IP ranges associated with a sanctioned jurisdiction for legal-required filtering.
  • Content licensing. Cross-reference your CDN config against the actual ranges in a licensed market.
  • Network research. Compare how much address space each country was allocated by which registry, in which decade.

Country codes are not always destinations

An IP's registry country is the country of the legal entity that holds the allocation, not necessarily where the IP is used today. A US-headquartered cloud provider can announce its addresses from datacentres in 30 countries. For traffic-routing decisions, combine this tool's registry list with a real-time geolocation database — the two can disagree by 30%+ for large multinational hosting and CDN networks.

Frequently asked questions

Why are some blocks listed under multiple countries?

They are not, in fact — each block has exactly one registry country. But a large multinational ISP's blocks may be split across many country codes depending on which subsidiary made the allocation. If you sum the address count for "Deutsche Telekom" across DE, US, and HU country lists, you get the company's total — the per-country list is just the per-country slice.

Does the country code match where the IP is actually used?

Often, but not always. The registry assigns a country code at allocation time; the IP can later be announced from anywhere. Major cloud providers buy blocks from US-region RIPE auctions and route them in Frankfurt, Singapore, or São Paulo. For real-time routing, use IP geolocation (which inspects BGP and real packet flow) on top of this registry-level list.

How big is a typical country's allocation?

Hugely variable. The US has ~1.6 billion IPv4 addresses; China ~340M; Germany ~120M; Ukraine ~13M. Many small island nations have under 10,000 IPv4 addresses but plenty of IPv6 (every new allocation today is /29 or shorter on the IPv6 side). The IPv6 count is essentially "comfortable for everyone" — no scarcity at the country level.

Can I export the list for use in iptables / pf / nftables?

Yes. The Copy CIDRs button gives a plain newline-separated list, directly usable by ipset restore, AWS prefix lists, Cloudflare's IP-list rules, or any modern firewall syntax. For very large countries (US, CN, RU) expect tens of thousands of prefixes — consider summarising with an aggregator before pushing the full list to a router.
