checkbox.tools is a collection of 32 network and developer utilities, built with the belief that technical tools should be fast, accurate, and stay out of your way. No signup walls, no session timers, no hidden rate limits.
Why we built this.
Every developer has a mental bookmark folder of "network tool" websites — ones that kind-of-work but bury the answer under ads, force you to sign up, or quietly rate-limit your IP after three queries.
We got tired of that. checkbox.tools exists because we wanted one place where whois, DNS, SSL, and a few dozen related utilities live together, load in under a second, and give you the raw answer alongside a readable one.
The tools are free and ad-supported. That trade-off pays for the servers and the people who keep the thing running.
What we won't do.
Our rules are simple. If we're tempted to break one, that usually means we need a better idea, not a shortcut.
No dark patterns
No auto-opt-in newsletters, no fake urgency, no "limited free lookups" meters designed to push paid plans.
No tracking beyond necessity
We use Google Analytics for aggregate traffic and that's it. Your lookups aren't sold, profiled, or tied to an identity.
No AI-generated filler
The explanations next to each tool are written by humans who use these tools. If a FAQ reads like ChatGPT, tell us — we'll rewrite it.
No lock-in
Every result is copyable and exportable. We expect you to move your workflow elsewhere someday, and that's fine.
